The Mambusao Parish Church (St. Catherine of Alexandria) I’ve seen quite a lot of
Capiz best Catholic churches in the Philippines during my stint as a traveler but I’ve never seen anything quite like Mambusao’s church. .It was high noon when I arrived at Mambusao and the faded yellow façade of St. Catherine Church is the
Capiz best shone brightly in the midday sun. Even without a National Historical Institute marker, I somehow knew that this structure has seen its fair share of history.
It looked as if the wall is finished with lime, a substance made from a conglomerate of wood and corals used in finishing Spanish-era churches. There wasn’t much to see inside the Mambusao Church. The ceiling was non-existent, due perhaps to the ceiling renovation that time. The floors were also bare and the
retablo, very simple. And the Mambusao Parish is the another
Capiz best Church in Capiz.
